HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu police on Tuesday released a new mug shot for an officer accused of crashing his car while awaiting sentencing in a prior DUI case.

Boyd Kamikawa, 54, took the mug photo Monday night, after police arrested him at his home on suspicion of driving without a license.

As Hawaii News Now first reported, HPD opened criminal and internal investigations after it learned that the 24-year police veteran was involved in a minor two-car collision on Bethel Street near Chaplain Lane Sunday.

Kamikawa lost his driver's license after he plowed into a pedestrian while driving drunk in Chinatown last year. He pleaded no contest in that case and is scheduled to be sentenced in May.
