HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for the entire state due to strengthening high pressure north of the Islands creating increasing trade winds across the islands.
Winds will be strong and locally gusty, especially through passes and valleys.
The wind advisory has been extended until 6 p.m. Thursday.
Easterly trade winds will be 15 to 25 mph with higher gusts to 50 mph through passes, valleys and over mountain ridges.
A wind advisory means that winds of 30 mph are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult especially for high profile vehicles.
A small craft warning has also been issued.
