HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for the summit and upper slopes of Haleakala on Maui.
Almost all areas on all islands are seeing increased winds today, but they are particularly strong at higher elevations on Maui island. East winds up to 40 mph with higher gusts are expected to materialize sometime this morning and remain until Wednesday evening.
A Wind Advisory means that winds of 30 mph or greater are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
A Small Craft Advisory remains in effect for all coastal waters.
