Hawaii Warrior's football schedule released

HONOLULU – (HawaiiNewsNow) - The University of Hawaii football team will open the 2011 season by playing four of its first six games on the road, the university said Monday after the Western Athletic Conference schedule was released.

On the flip side, UH will play five of its final seven games at Aloha Stadium.

The Warriors play four non-conference games in the month of September including consecutive road games at Washington (Sept. 10) and UNLV (Sept. 17) sandwiched between their season opener against Colorado (Sept. 3) and Football Championship Subdivision foe UC Davis (Sept. 24).
UH opens its 33rd and final season in the WAC with road games at Louisiana Tech (Oct. 1) and San Jose State (Oct. 15), with a bye week in between. The defending WAC champions will then alternate between home and away games against New Mexico State (Oct. 22), at Idaho (Oct. 29), Utah State (Nov. 5), at Nevada (Nov. 12), and Fresno State (Nov. 19).
Hawaii closes out the schedule with non-conference home games against Tulane (Nov. 26) and Brigham Young (Dec. 3).
The schedule includes four teams that participated in bowl games last season: Washington (Bridgepoint Education Holiday Bowl), Nevada (Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl), Fresno State (uDrove Humanitarian Bowl), and Brigham Young (New Mexico Bowl).
For the fourth consecutive year UH will play six road games, including back-to-back non-conference road contests for the third straight year.
