Aloha! Here are some of the stories we're working on for Hawaii News Now at 5 and 5:30 on this Monday.
BIG RAIL ANNOUNCEMENT?
More contracts have been awarded for the City's controversial rail project. The contracts, which were announced today, are for train vehicles and the system's control center; and for the construction of the second phase of the project's elevated guide way. Our own Brooks Baehr is covering this story and will have more tonight at 5.
FOOD FROM JAPAN SAFE
With the looming nuclear crisis in Japan, shoppers in Hawaii can allay their fears of radiation contaminated food being sold here. That's according to the Food & Drug Administration. Today, we talked with the FDA and one local retailer that imports a wide variety of products from Japan. That story is tonight at 5.
NEW GUIDELINES FOR CHILD SAFETY SEATS
The American Academy of Pediatrics has new guidelines -- advising parents to keep their toddlers in rear-facing car seats until age 2, or until they reach the maximum height and weight for their seat. That's something new. We'll have the rest of the story tonight at 5:30.
I hope you'll join me tonight for these stories and more on Hawaii News Now at 5 and 5:30. See you then!
