On Sunrise: Windy Start to this Work Week

Hope you can start off your work week with Sunrise. We're following the latest on air strikes in Libya, a setback at Japan's crippled nuclear power plant, plus our high winds here at home.

WINDY START TO SPRING

The strong wind gusts helped re-arrange some of my furniture and it looks like we're in for another breezy day. Dan will have an updated forecast for us.

TOWN HALL ON EWA POWER OUTAGE AND TSUNAMI

Ewa residents will have their chance to sound off on the power outage caused when high winds knocked down power poles on Fort Weaver Road and the response to the tsunami. Representative Kymberly Pine will have details when she joins us at 5:50.

LATEST ON LIBYA

Air strikes to enforce no-fly zones over Libya are being called "very effective." President Obama has said no ground troops will go in, but Moammar Gadhafi is promising this will be a long war. We're tracking this developing story.

SETBACK IN JAPAN

Workers at Japan's crippled nuclear plant had to be evacuated this morning after reports of smoke coming from a reactor. Officials now estimate the earthquake and tsunami have killed more than 18-thousand people.

MARCH MADNESS WINNERS AND LOSERS

Taizo's bummed. University of Washington gave up its lead and lost to North Carolina in the final seconds. The Florida Gators were just too much for my Bruins to handle. Who will I root for now? Steve is recovering from Duke's scare against Michigan (and yelling at his TV!) And, Dan is laughing at us all. Don't you just love college basketball?

Hope your bracket's not a total bust!

See you on Sunrise,

Tannya Joaquin
