LONG BEACH, Calif.(HawaiiNewsNow) – The University of Hawaii men's volleyball team swept the match and series against No. 5 Long Beach State Saturday night. The win (25-23, 27-25, and 25-17) gave UH (12-9, 10-6 MPSF) also marked the 6th straight victory for the Warriors.
All-American opposite Jonas Umlauft had nine of his match-high 22 kills in the opening set. Outside hitter Joshua Walker added 14 kills on .345 hitting. As a team, UH hit .310 compared to .250 for the 49ers.
The Warriors continue their four-match road trip with a two-match series against Brigham Young, Thursday, March 24 and Friday, March 25. Both matches begin at 7:00 p.m. MT (3:00 p.m. HT) at Smith Fieldhouse in Provo, Utah.
