Wahine softball drops another

Honolulu (HawaiiNewsNow)  -- The offensive well has gone empty for the No. 16 Rainbow Wahine Softball Team. Despite another stellar effort in the circle by Stephanie Ricketts (6 IP, 2 ER, 5 H, 10 K), UH lost for the 4th time in a row 2-1 to BYU.

The 'Bows got out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth inning on Sharla Kliebenstein's solo homer that sailed over the left-centerfield fence. For Kliebenstein, it was her ninth home run of the season.

The Cougars scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the 6th off a Jessica Fitu RBI single, who later scored the winning run off a double to left field by Carly Duckworth.

The Rainbow Wahine begin conference play against Utah State on Friday at 6:00 pm with a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 4:00 pm.
