MILILANI (HawaiiNewsNow) - Aureana Tseu, a former Miss Hawaii USA, left her apartment in Tokyo, canceled appearances and returned to Honolulu Thursday. Her decision to come home was driven by concern over possible widespread radiation should the crippled nuclear power plants in Japan continue to deteriorate.
Tseu's mother, Iwalani Walsh Tseu, also returned from Japan Thursday. She was there to open a Hawaiian cultural school in Nagano.
Both are happy to be home, but worry about the friends they left behind in Japan.
