Keehi dock breaks loose during tsunami

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - At first people thought they had escaped major damage at the Keehi Small Boat Harbor.

But moments after we walked out onto a pier the dock at a neighboring facility broke off with dozens of vessels still attached.

People watched in horror as the free floating boats from the Keehi Marine Center started plowing into piers.

They started screaming at other owners still onboard their vessels.

Boat owners stood by helplessly as the vessels crashed into each other.

Authorities checked the wreckage but luckily, no one was hurt.

A coast guard helicopter surveyed the mess below.
