HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - She has been called "the most gifted young pianist of her generation." Joyce Yang, 24, has captivated audiences around the globe, with innovative solo recitals and notable collaborations with the world's top orchestras. In 2010, she was awarded an Avery Fisher Career Grant, one of the most prestigious prizes in classical music.
Yang played Friday night at UH-Manoa's Orvis Auditorium, courtesy of UH-Manoa Outreach College and the Hawaii Music Teachers Association. Unfortunately, the show has already sold out. Luckily Dan got to sit in on a practice session. Watch the video to see her play.
