Tsunami warning downgraded to advisory levels

HONOLULU (Hawaii News Now) -  Tsunami waves have now crossed the state of Hawaii and have diminished to advisory levels.

Sea level changes and strong currents may occur along all coasts that could be a hazard to swimmers and boaters.

This includes persons near the shore at beaches and in harbors and marinas.

The threat may continue for several hours.

It appears officials are starting to let evacuated residents return to their homes.
