BUDGET DEADLINE LOOMING

This Friday is the deadline for Congress to reach a budget funding deal that would head off a government shutdown, at least buy time for 2 more weeks. We'll see if any progress has been made when we talk live by phone with Hawaii's Freshman Congresswoman Colleen Hanabusa this morning at 7:15.

HAWAII'S HOMELESS UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL

Ramsay Wharton shows us more of her exclusive look at Hawaii's homeless. Who they are, how they got there, and how young children are coping with life on the streets, beach, and the "bush."

150 RESCUED PUPPIES: MESSAGE TO LAWMAKERS

The Senate will consider a bill today that would regulate large breeders. It's a timely issue with yesterday's rescue of 150 puppies from a Waimanalo breeder that Hawaii News Now has investigated before. The Hawaiian Humane Society took the dogs into custody yesterday, saying they were living in filth and deplorable conditions. We'll be following developments.

Teri Okita spoke with the 4 stars of Hawaii Five-O with one mission: to get them to open up about their guilty pleasures. So, who took the bait and who tried to turn the tables on Teri? Tune in at 6:40 to find out.

MAJOR MISTAKE FOR COMPUTER OWNERS

MIT researchers did a study in 2002 where they purchased 158 used hard drives through eBay and found that only 12 were properly cleaned. Techie Jared Kuroiwa will demonstrate how to clean your drive to prevent important records and credit card numbers from getting into the wrong hands. That's coming up at 7:50.

CITIZEN'S CPR

CPR is undergoing a change. The new national Red Cross initiative teaches people how to save lives using compression-only CPR. Dan will give us a demonstration at 5:40.

CINDERELLA COMES TO IOLANI

Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella will be presented by the 'Iolani School Performing Arts department at Hawaii Theatre from March 3 to 5th. Students will preview the show this morning at 8:20.
