High surf advisory issued for most islands

(HawaiiNewsNow) - A high surf advisory has been issued for the east-facing shores of Kauai, Oahu, Molokai, Maui and the Big Island.

It will remain in effect until 6 a.m. Tuesday. The National Weather Service says it expects wave heights of six to eight feet.

A high surf advisory means that high surf will affect beaches and reefs in the advisory area, producing large breaking waves, dangerous rip currents and localized beach erosion.
