Happy Aloha Friday, I hope this email finds you well. Here are some of the stories we're working on for Hawaii News Now at 5 and 5:30.
CAN WE GET SOME HOT WATER AT MAYOR WRIGHT HOUSING?
Residents at Mayor Wright Housing in Kalihi took their plight straight to legislators today. Residents went door to door at the state capitol telling legislators about the on-going problem. The residents even went to the Governor's office. We were there. Brooks Baehr will have a report at 5.
FIRE OFFICIALS INVESTIGATE ALEWA HEIGHTS FIRE
Fire investigators spent the day digging through charred ruble at 2041-A Iholena Street. The abandoned home went up in huge flames and thick smoke yesterday afternoon. What caused it? Fire investigators were on the scene today; so were neighbors who lived next to the burned home. One woman we spoke with is not homeless. We'll have a full report at 5:30.
HOUSTON, WE HAVE A PROBLEM!
The space shuttle Discovery launch went off as planned yesterday. Today, however, we're finding out how close the mission came to being scrubbed again. We'll tell you what prompted NASA engineers to give the lift off the green light.
We'll have these stories and more tonight on Hawaii News Now.
I hope you will join Stephanie Lum and me at 5 and 5:30.
