Investigators look for answers to Kalihi fire

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Fire investigators spent the day at that burned out house on Alewa Heights, trying to figure out what set off the blaze.

Late Thursday afternoon, the abandoned home lit up the afternoon sky with towering flames and thick smoke.

On Friday, neighbors -- their homes also damaged by the huge flames -- spent the day sorting out what happened and what to do next.

Fire investigators are still investigating. Sources tell Hawaii News Now the home had no electricity and was a hangout for homeless in the area.
