UH Men's basketball secures WAC tourney berth by beating La Tech

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The UH men's basketball team locked up a WAC tournament berth after cruising by Louisiana Tech 71-58 Thursday night at the Stan Sheriff Center.

The Rainbow Warriors (16-10, 6-7 WAC) stared the game on a 13-2 run, taking a 41-22 lead at the break.

Bill Amis led four 'Bows in double figures with 18 points. Zane Johnson added 16 points, Vander Joaquim had 11 points and 9 boards, while Jeremiah Ostrowski piled up 12 points and seven assists in his second straight start.

UH will play its final regular season home game of the year when it takes on New Mexico State on Saturday, Feb. 26 at 7:00 p.m.
