HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A Flood Advisory has been posted for the island of Hawaii. Moderate to heavy showers extend the length of the island along its west coast from Upolu Point to South Point. Some very heavy showers and thundershowers are just off-shore.
Residents of the Big Island are urged to stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone to flooding. Rainfall and runoff will also cause hazardous driving conditions due to ponding, reduced visibility and poor braking action. Do not cross fast flowing or rising water in your vehicle or on foot.
A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect for the entire state. Heavy showers could develop very quickly on any island today.
