HONOLULU, Oahu (HawaiiNewsNow) - In 1976 Buffalo Keaulana was the steersman for the Hokulea's maiden voyage to Tahiti. Upon his return he wanted to do something to give back to his community and perpetuate his Hawaiian culture. That's when he started the Buffalo Big Board Surfing Classic, now in it's 35th year.
The Buffalo Big Board Surfing Classic is a family affair and fun for the whole family - old and young. Three days of competition have already wrapped but you've still got two days to watch the action. Malika has details from Makaha beach.
