Hilo robber remains unidentified

BIG ISLAND (HawaiiNewsNow) - Police are renewing their request for help from the public in locating and identifying a man responsible for a robbery in Hilo on Oct. 21 around 7:30 p.m.

The victim was at a restaurant in downtown Hilo and told police that an unknown man took his wife's purse from a table while they were seated. When the victim attempted to stop the suspect, the suspect punched him in the face.

The suspect is described as a local male, in his mid 20s, 5-feet-10 to 5-feet-11, 250 pounds with a tattoo on his right outer calf.

Police ask that anyone with information on his identity or whereabouts call detective Ernest Matsumoto at 961-2379 or the Police Department's non-emergency line at 935-3311.
