EWA BEACH (HawaiiNewsNow) - A new traffic signal will go "live" on Tuesday, Feb. 22, at the intersection of Kapolei Parkway and Kolowaka Drive in Ewa Gentry.
"The City is continuing its efforts to increase traffic safety at heavily-traveled intersections, said Wayne Yoshida, acting director of the city Department of Transportation Services. "The traffic signal installation incorporates the latest design elements to ensure safe and efficient vehicular movement.
"Combined with pedestrian countdown signals, re striping, and continuing public education, this traffic signal improvement will also make pedestrian crossings of Kapolei Parkway and Hollow Drive safer for everyone."
DTS is currently flashing the new signals to warn motorists and pedestrians of the upcoming activation.
