HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Board of Water Supply crews are working to repair a break in a 24-inch water main near 92-426 Farrington Highway on the Leeward Coast.
The makai eastbound lane of Farrington Highway will be closed in the area for the duration of the repair, which is expected to continue overnight.
The break occurred at about 3:15 p.m. Thursday.
The 24-inch water main, which brings approximately 60 percent of the water to the Leeward Coast, will not be in service while crews are making repairs.
THe BWS is asking all residents from Honokai Hale to Makaha to use water sparingly and for priority needs only until further notice. This means using water for cooking, drinking and personal hygiene only.
It's unknown if any customers are without water at this time.
