HONOLULU, Oahu (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Ukulele Foundation of Hawaii, a non-profit organization supporting music in education throughout Hawaii, Japan and the world, presents Ukulele Picnic Week.
The festivities begin with Pakele Live at Willows Restaurant. The Pakele Live series is a live broadcast featuring the beautiful music, language, and hula of Hawaii with the world via the Internet. The broadcast will feature special performances by Ukulele performers from Japan, Sekiguchi band, Pali and many more.

1st Annual Heart & Soul International Ukulele Contest
Finalists will be chosen to compete in the semi-finals on Saturday, February 12th at Ala Moana Centerstage. A Grand Champion will be chosen from each age category and will win many prizes including the chance to perform at the 2011 Ukulele Picnic to be held on February 13th at Kaka'ako Waterfront Park.

3rd Annual Ukulele Picnic
The celebration continues with the Ukulele Foundation's 3rd annual Ukulele Picnic at the Kaka'ako Waterfront Park. A star studded lineup of entertainers from Japan and Hawaii as well as N¨¡ H¨k¨± Hanohano award winning artists such as Ohta-san, Ku`uipo Kumukahi, PALI, Holunape, Ernie Cruz Jr., Weldon Kekauoha, Brittni Paiva, Kalei Gamiao and many more will be performing.
Along with the main stage non-stop entertainment, guests will be able to enjoy ukulele related exhibits, a wide variety of merchandise, and food vendors will be selling ono food and drinks. Parking is available and shuttle service will be provided from Waikiki. There will be inflatables for the kids and all are encouraged to bring mats for lawn seating.
