One dead, two injured, 22 homeless after Liliha fire

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow)- An elderly man died in a house fire that fire investigators have determined was intentionally set Wednesday.

Flames broke out shortly after 12:30 a.m., at a two story single-family home on Liliha Street.

Clarence Isobe was taken to the Queen's Medical Center where he later died. Two others were also injured.

The fire caused about $300,000 damage to the structure and contents.

Fire Officials say, the home had been converting into a boarding house and as many as 22 people lived there. Fire crews brought the blaze under control about ten minutes after arriving on scene.

The Red Cross is assisting the displaced people.
