Handi-Van on fire closes H-2 freeway

HONOLUOLU (HawaiiNewsNow) A Handi-Van was completely destroyed during a fire that closed all four lanes of the H-2 freeway in the Mililani direction just before the Ka Uka Boulevard overpass.

The Honolulu Fire Department responded to the scene by 2:05 p.m. and had completely extinguished the flames by 2:40 p.m. Traffic lanes reopened just after 3 p.m

The 15-18 passenger van was being driven by a lone female driver when a fire started in the engine compartment and spread to the passenger cab.

No one was injured in the incident.
