State meetings to discuss renewable energy program

HONOLULU - (HawaiiNewsNow) - The state Department of Energy and the Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism will host the first in a series of public meetings Tuesday on Oahu to discuss the Hawaii Interisland Renewable Energy Program: Wind Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement.

The EIS reviews possible environmental impacts that may arise from wind energy program development under the HIREP and the range of reasonable option.

The meeting will be held tonight at McKinley High School cafeteria, 1039 South King Street, from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Both oral and written comments will be considered by DOE and DBEDT.
