Hawaii Girl Scouts to sell all eight cookie flavors

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - When more than a quarter-million boxes of Girl Scout Cookies arrive in the islands towards the end of February, the shipment will include not six, but all eight flavors currently available this Girl Scout Cookie® Season.

Last week, the Wall Street Journal ran an article regarding the Super Six pilot program by Little Brownie Bakers. Only 12 of 112 Girl Scout councils across the country have chosen to participate in the Super Six pilot program that focuses on the six top-selling cookie varieties. Girl Scouts of Hawaii is not included among those participating in the pilot.

The Super Six pilot project will be evaluated at the end of Cookie Season to see whether a more streamlined product line would drive greater efficiencies for everyone involved in the Cookie Program. No decision has been made in any council, or by Little Brownie Bakers, regarding which cookie varieties will be offered in the future.

Councils who use Little Brownie Bakers (including Hawaii) and are not participating in the Super Six pilot program will continue to offer all eight varieties of cookies: Thank U Berry Munch, Dulce de Leche, and Thin Mints, Samoas®, Tagalongs®, Do-si-dos®, Trefoils, Lemon Chalet Cremes™. Hawaii's Girl Scout Cookie® packages will also contain exactly the same count and weight as last year.

Girl Scout Cookies cannot be purchased online, however, orders can be placed electronically via direct email with troops.

For more information on Hawaii's Girl Scout Cookie® program or to be put in touch with a Girl Scout Troop to place an order, go to girlscouts-hawaii.org.
