HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – The lure of a large payout for each player on the winning team may have been more incentive than previously thought as the NFC scored the first 42 points in the 2011 Pro Bowl.

The NFC eventually held on for a 55-41 victory, taking a slim 21-20 lead in the annual all-star games rivalry. As for that payout, each player on the NFC roster is expected to receive $45,000.

Washington Redskins star DeAngelo Hall earned MVP honors after forcing, recovering and returning a Wes Welker fumble 34 yards to give the NFC a 28-0 nothing advantage. It was the story of the day for the AFC, who turned the ball over six times.

Former Warrior and current Dallas Cowboys punter Mat McBriar made his second Pro Bowl appearance recording one punt for 70 yards.

This was the 31st time the Pro Bowl was played on Oahu after being away from the islands in 2010 when it was played in Miami.
