Kailua gunman charged with robbery, burglary

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNOw) - Prosecutors have charged a Scott V. Lee, 30, of Enchanted Lake with burglary and car jacking and he is being held on $200,000 bail.

Lee hide in a Kaaawa home Wednesday, forcing police to close Kamehameha Highway for several hours.

Lee is charged with first-degree robbery, second-degree robbery, two counts of second-degree burglary, and two counts of use of a firearm in a felony.

He is accused of wielding a rifle and robbing a 41-year-old visitor from Alaska at a beach rental near Kualoa Ranch.

The suspect allegedly stole two laptop computers, a cell phone, a camera bag and a diaper bag, before running out to the highway and trying to carjack passing motorists.
