KANEOHE (HawaiiNewsNow) - For the second straight day, Honolulu police responded to a report of a violent home invasion in the Kailua-Kaneohe-Kahuku patrol district.

Initial reports indicate that two suspects wearing dark clothing and masks entered a home on Kionaole Road near the Koolau Golf Club at about 5:10 AM Thursday, ordered two female occupants to be quiet and grabbed a purse. Police say one of the victims was assaulted, but later refused medical attention.

The suspects -- described as one female and one heavy-set person of unknown gender -- fled in a waiting vehicle, possibly a truck.

On Wednesday, police responded to a report of a home invasion on Kamehameha Highway near Kualoa Ranch. Scott Lee, 30, is accused of entering the beach house armed with a rifle and robbing a 41-year-old visitor from Alaska. He later allegedly tried to carjack several passing motorists.

The suspect surrendered to police three hours later. The standoff forced the closure of Kamehameha Highway between Kualoa and Kaaawa in both directions.
