Unregistered sex offender arrested in Wahiawa

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) The Adam Walsh task force led by U.S. Marshals along with Honolulu sheriff deputies located and arrested Glenn W. Botelho Jr. At 10:20 a.m. Tuesday at 330 N. Cane St. in Wahiawa.

Botelho was wanted on a federal warrant for failing to register as a convicted sex offender .

In April 2000, he was convicted of one count of abusive sexual contact with a person younger than 12 years old.

After serving six years in federal prison, Botelho was released on probation.

One of the conditions of release was to register for life as a convicted sex offender which he failed to do since October 2008.
