Rainbow Warriors beat Spartans

Manoa, Honolulu (HawaiiNewsNow) – As the Rainbow Warriors Josten Thomas completed a tomahawk jam in the second half he spread his arms out like a Hawaiian Airlines jet as the Warriors (12-8, 3-5) took off for their 3rd straight win beating San Jose State 67-61 Saturday night. Thomas paced UH with 14 points and 14 rebounds, while Bill Amis led the Bows scoring 20 points and grabbing 9 rebounds. Hawaii used a smothering defense to contain the nations 3rd leading scorer (25 pts/gm) Adrian Oliver to just 10 points. SJSU struggled from the field hitting just 31-percent of their shots. Hawaii wraps up their 3-game home stand next Saturday when they host Utah State at 7pm Hawaii time. That game can be seen live on K5.
