Coming up on Hawaii News Now Wednesday

Aloha everyone! I hope you're having a great Wednesday!

It's an exciting day for Hawaii News Now as we keep our eyes on the north shore of Oahu! Die-hard surfers are asking, "Will the Eddie go?"

Our team of reporters and Guy Hagi will be broadcasting live from Waimea Bay with a look at the monster waves and the contest preparations underway tonight at 5 p.m.

The legislature kicked off its 60-day session today with opening ceremonies at the State capitol. Lawmakers will have to tackle tough issues this year like a budget deficit and whether or not to bring back the civil unions debate.

Honolulu police are on the hunt for the driver of a gray 1992 Honda four-door sedan with license plate JBW 216 who hit a pedestrian on Nimitz Highway last night and took off. The victim, a 29-year-old man was in a marked cross walk when he was hit. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

All that and we're also showcasing your pictures sent to us via our connect now link on our website! Keep sending them in and we'll be sure to show them on Hawaii's most watched 5 o'clock news!

See you then!
