Free Aging Classes

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow)- Attention Plus Care is a home health agency active in the Oahu community for 27 years. One of our specialties is to provide care to the elderly in their home. We started this program called Aging in Hawaii two years ago. The mission of the program is to help seniors participate in learning sessions where they will receive expert information about aging topics and have the opportunity to share with others who are dealing with similar care situations.

The monthly classes are free, and designed to improve quality of life for seniors through prevention, safety and resources. Participants will have an opportunity to learn from a licensed Registered Nurse on different aging related issues. Our Registered Nurses are highly experienced and knowledgeable about the various topics that we teach. They can speak from real experiences with their own clients they have cared for.

Class topics: Diabetes, Alzheimer's, Stroke & Heart Attack, Nutrition, Cancer Care, Fitness, Fall Prevention, End of Life care (just to name a few).  Our upcoming class in on Parkinson's – scheduled for January 26th from 9am to 11am - focus here will be on causes, symptoms, current treatments and caregiver tips for managing someone with Parkinson's in the home.  These Classes are meant for family members who are care giving for their loved ones.

The classes are held at our home office on Makaloa Street in central Honolulu. Registration is free for all classes, but space is limited. To register, participants can call 440-9372, or for additional information visit our web site at www.attentionplus.com
