HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - St. Francis School Friday kicks off its historic first homecoming weekend with a pep rally at the Ahuna Troubadome on the school campus.

The rally will be a warmup for an ILH Division II basketball game between the school's first varsity boys' team and Iolani at a Manoa District Park gym, scheduled for Saturday at 7 p.m.

The Saints, as the St. Francis athletes are now called, are 4-1 and in a battle for first place in the league. Iolani is currently 3-4.

At 5 p.m., the St. Francis girls will meet Christian Academy.

This is the first year that the school has boys as well as girls varsity teams. St. Francis began turning coed in 2006 after more than 80 years as an all-girls institution.
