Key players discuss chromium 6 levels in local tap water

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - An environmental review last month found Honolulu had one of the highest levels of chromium six in tap water of 35 cities reviewed. Earlier this week, lawmakers called a hearing to discuss the issue.

Part 1: Robert Harris, executive director of the Sierra Club, was one of the presenters at the hearing.

Part 2: Gary Gill, deputy director for environmental health, discusses the health impact of chromium six. Erwin Kawata, water quality program administrator, explains how and why the Board of Water Supply will conduct its own study.
