Rainbow Wahine basketball player Courtney Gaddis works hard both on the court and in the classroom. The Kalani High School graduate transferred back to the University of Hawai‘i after playing one year at Whitworth University in Spokane,Washington. This year, the junior guard—who earned Academic All-WAC honors as a pre-med major last year—received a coveted UH scholarship. Her dedication to academics and to her teammates is inspiring, but one of her greatest acts of selflessness came this past fall, when she donated her bone marrow to an ailing four-year old boy on the mainland. We wish both Courtney and the little boy the best of luck in 2011.
