HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Let's take a look at some of the Good Things in the news...
You may know that pandas are our favorite animal on Sunrise. But today we meet a panda.. with a twist. A miniature cow born in Northern Colorado has markings very similar to a panda. A white belt encircles the animal's midsection and it has a white face with black ovals around the eyes. It's thought to be one of only about 24 "panda cows" in the world. Of course it's not really a panda, just a breed of cow that looks like a panda. The animal's owner says at auction the panda cow could fetch as much as $30,000.
For basketball players and fans, an NBA championship ring may be the ultimate prize. It took Laker power forward Ron Artest 10 long years to get one, but now he's giving it away. The L-A star athlete raffled off the diamond-encrusted ring for charity and in the process raised more than $650,000. The funds will be distributed to various mental health charities across California. Artest said he is glad to help others and is looking forward to getting another ring this season.
And finally, a bunch of zeros in Connecticut's lottery have created one of the biggest payoffs in the game's history. The winning number for yesterday's drawing was all zeros. According to lottery officials, the combination is actually one of the most popular numbers played. The Connecticut State Lottery expects to pay out around $2.6 million dollars.
