HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A high surf warning have been posted Tuesday by the National Weather Service for north and west facing shores of Kauai and Niihau and west facing shores of the Big Island.
A high surf advisory is also posted for north and west facing shores of Oahu and north facing shores of Molokai and Maui.
Another large west-northwest swell will build late Tuesday into the Waianae coast and Oahu's Northshore.
A high surf advisory remains in effect from 6 p.m. this Tuesday to 6 p.m. Thursday.
Surf along north facing shores will rise to 18 to 24 feet while surf along west facing shores will build to 10 to 18 feet.
Surf will increase Tuesday night reaching advisory levels Wednesday and continuing through Thursday.
Inexperienced swimmers should avoid entering the water. The swell will produce strong rip currents which can overpower even strong swimmers.
