Lt. Gov. Schatz names senior advisor, director

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Lt. Gov. Brian Schatz Monday named Dale Chikuami Hahn as senior advisor and Lynn Heirakuji as Fair Share Initiative director.

"Ms. Hahn brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to our team and a strong commitment to addressing the challenges facing our state," said Schatz.

Hahn was an independent consultant, providing advice and counsel on legislative and administrative matters to Princess Cruises and Holland America Line.

She was previously the Director of Government Affairs at NCL America. Prior to that, she was the Director of Special Projects at PMCI.

Hahn earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Hawaii-Manoa and is active in community affairs.

Schatz is in charge of the state's Fair Share Initiative which seeks to maximize federal funds for Hawaii.

Heirakuji will be the director of this initiative.

"I am thrilled that Ms. Heirakuji has chosen to apply her vast skill set to our state government after many years of public service in the federal government," says Schatz.

Heirakuji served at the Pentagon as Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army for Personnel Oversight, providing senior civilian oversight to a wide range of manpower programs.

Previously, she was the SES Deputy Director in the Office of Human Capital Management in the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Heirakuji held numerous senior staff and leadership positions in several Departments, including the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and U.S. Department of Commerce.

Heirakuji received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Hawaii, a Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Denver and a Doctorate in Social Work from Howard University.
