HALEIWA (HawaiiNewsNow) - Thanks to water conservation efforts of residents on the North Shore, the Board of Water Supply says its system has recovered.

Residents from Haleiwa to Turtle Bay may return to normal water use.

The BWS asked residents in that area to conserve water after a water main break on Thursday.

The 16-inch main created a muddy mess in Haleiwa town and shut down Kamehameha Highway in both directions at Lokoea Place.

It also shut down two businesses.

Crews cleared the debris and mud Thursday night and finished road repairs Friday before 11 a.m.
