Salt Lake pedestrian accident leaves man in critical condition

SALT LAKE (HawaiiNewsNow) - A pedestrian was hit at about 12 :45 a.m. Tuesday at Ala Napunani and Likini Streets in Salt Lake.

Police say a 19-year-old male was driving a Plymouth Voyager on Ala Napunani street with five passengers.

They say a 20-year-old passenger, who was drinking, started arguing with the other passengers and then jumped out near the traffic circle at Likini Street.

Police say he hit the roadway and was taken in critical condition to the Queens Medical Center with head and other injuries.

Police say the driver continued driving and returned 15 minutes later where he was arrested on suspicion of driving drunk and failure to render aid.

No other passengers were hurt.
