HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Hawaii News Now got an inside look at where the president took the first lady Wednesday night for a special dinner.
The project manager at Alan Wong's Restaurant on King Street showed us where he sat with Michelle Obama, his sister and a few other family friends.
No kids on this dinner date. There were however, several layers of security officers.
"They send their security ahead of time. Bomb sniffing dogs check out the perimeters, the cars. They do have additional men up on the roof," Alan Wong's Restaurant project manager Leigh Ito said. "They also have cooks with the oval office that come in as part of the kitchen to make sure that we're following proper sanitation."
As for their menu choices, the president stuck with his favorite, which we're told he's ordered every time he visited - kalbi short ribs.
For dessert he ordered another personal favorite, a coconut haupia sorbet with lilikoi sauce.
