HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A bit of relief for the family of Andy Irons. The official cause of his death will not be made public for at least six more months.
That's a judge's ruling in Texas, where the champion surfer died Nov. 2.
Irons' wife, Lindie, asked the court to delay the release of the coroner's report to avoid what she called the "intense news frenzy and innuendo of drug use."
She's also worried her income from the "Irons' brand" may be harmed.
The earliest the report could be released is May 20.
