Flood Advisory posted for Oahu

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A Flood Advisory has been issued for Oahu until 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. The National Weather Service says radar Wednesday afternoon showed a nearly stationary area of heavy rain from Laie to Wahiawa.

Other locations in the advisory include, but are not limited to, Punaluu, Waikane, Kaaawa and Hauula.

Forecasters said residents should stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low-lying areas prone to flooding. Rainfall and runoff could also cause hazardous driving conditions due to ponding and reduced visibility.

Meantime, a flash flood watch remains in effect for Oahu, Molokai, Lanai, Maui, Kahoolawe and the Big Island of Hawaii until late Wednesday night.
