Salt Lake man charged with manslaughter following bar fight

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A 23-year-old Salt Lake man was charged with manslaughter Tuesday in connection to the killing of a 35-year-old man in September.

Aysa Delos Santos, of Ala Lilikoi Street, was charged in a grand jury indictment and is being held on $100,000 bail.

The Honolulu Medical Examiner's office determined the victim, identified as Christopher Myers of Honolulu, died from blunt head trauma, caused by a fall following a punch.

Police had said Myers got into a fight fronting Club Saigon Passion III, at 1420 Kapiolani Blvd, on Sept. 19.

A security officer later found Myers unresponsive and injured. Emergency crews pronounced him dead at the scene.

Police arrested Delos Santos on Sept. 22 on suspicion of second-degree murder but released him the following day, pending investigation.
