HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Let's take a look at some of the Good Things in the news...
Yesterday the Salvation Army began distributing all 10,055 presents it collected through its Angel Tree Program this year. At the Vineyard Boulevard donation site, families arrived to collect their gifts, intended for children and the elderly. The Salvation Army says every single person who requested a gift this year will get their wish.
Yesterday Chef Chai told us about a food drive for the River of Life Mission at the Chinatown police substation. Apparently there was some confusion and some donors were turned away. Well everything has been cleared up and the substation is collecting canned food donations through 10:00 AM Friday. The drive was organized by HPD officer John Kim after he met a homeless woman who could not afford to buy some doughnuts for breakfast.
A zoo in Indonesia showed off its newest addition yesterday.. a newborn elephant. The calf was born Monday at a whopping 220 pounds. No name has been chosen. This is the first elephant born at the zoo in 3 years.
