HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -Services were held this morning at the Cathedral of St. Theresa for Brother Greg O'Donnell, former president of Damien Memorial School.

O'Donnell was head of the school from 1997 until 2007, when he retired.

He's credited with adding a middle school and helping to rescue the school from financial crisis when he arrived in 1997.

"He worked his retirement years teaching in one of the correctional facilities and he always supported Damien and the students in what ever way he could do to help them," said Brother Peter Zawuot, principal of Damien Memorial. "I think he is going to be greatly missed by the community, he certainly made an impact on the community here in Honolulu especially in Kalihi."
