Honolulu International Airport providing free wireless Internet access

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Honolulu International Airport now offers free wireless Internet access throughout its concourses, lounges and concession areas.

The state's largest wireless Internet provider, ShakaNet Inc., is teaming up with FreeFi Networks Inc. to provide the service.

"We're happy to be able to provide this service at no cost to passengers at Honolulu International Airport during the holiday season," chief technology officer for ShakaNet Nam Vu said. "We would especially like to welcome our Kamaaina to enjoy the free service on any device that has WiFi (News - Alert) capabilities, even iPhones, other smart phones and iPads."

"ShakaNet offers an outstanding wireless experience for its customers in multiple venues across Hawaii," FreeFi Networks chief executive officer Richard Bogen said. "We are proud to be able to partner with them to provide fast, reliable and free wireless connectivity for the thousands of people using their systems daily."
