First Family flying without President Obama

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Unfinished business in Washington will keep President Barack Obama from starting his vacation on time.

Last year it was healthcare, this year it is tax cuts.

President Obama will stay in D.C. until at least Tuesday while Congress is still in session.

Meanwhile, the rest of the First Family will start their vacation without him.

According to a statement from the Office of the First Lady, Michelle Obama and daughters Sasha and Malia and the First Dog Bo will arrive in Honolulu some time Saturday.

The First Family won't be flying on Air Force One, instead they'll be using a military version of a Boeing 737 similar to this.

The First Lady's office describes it as one of the White House fleet's smaller and most efficient planes.
